How to get your AFM in Greece

Getting an AFM is the first thing almost every newcomer to Greece needs. The process runs through the local tax office (DOY) and, increasingly, online via myAADE — but the paperwork and language trip most people up.

The documents you need

  • Valid passport or national ID (and a copy)
  • Proof of address (in Greece or abroad)
  • Birth certificate (sometimes required, translated)
  • The M1 / M7 tax registration forms
  • A power of attorney if we apply on your behalf

The steps

  • We confirm your situation (resident, non-resident, company)
  • We complete the M1/M7 forms and assemble your file
  • We submit at the competent DOY (or via your tax representative)
  • You receive your nine-digit AFM, ready to use
